Company Overview The company was established in 1997 having its core business in OEM heating elements for appliances.  Seventy percent (70%) of the company’s heating elements manufactured are exported worldwide to major customers in countries such as Europe, North America, Russia & South East Asia. Locally, the company supplies nearly 100% of its heating elements to major Malaysian market and OEMs for shower heater and storage tank heater. Its range of products comprises of various types of Sheath Heaters, Mica Heaters and Glass Heaters produced within highly efficient manufacturing facilities and stringent quality standards. Responsibilities: To source, manage and coordinate suppliers to meet the company’s policies and standard of procedures in regards to quality, delivery and costs, these includes but not limited to:- Conduct market analysis to develop sourcing strategy and negotiating strategies Conduct cost & quality negotiations, contractual agreements and on-going supplier’s performance activities. To negotiate with suppliers for best available terms of purchases Facilitation of RFQ processing, competitive quoting and selection administration Ensure adequate resources for factory operations Responsible for overall suppliers and subcontractors’ relationship management Develop a supplier’s databank and build up good rapport with key suppliers Close monitoring and communication with reliable local and overseas suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time and meeting customer specifications Discuss and identify the cause of problem with suppliers/vendors Conduct suppliers’ evaluation assessment on yearly basis To take corrective and preventive action on the delivery of defective and unacceptable goods Follow up on all defective materials claims with suppliers To arrange proper insurance coverage for materials in transit and handles related insurance claims Continuously identify and implement new ways/opportunities for cost savings and process simplifications for existing materials purchases, outsourcing and specialty products Continuously sourcing new materials in timely and costs effective manners Contingency plan management if any critical delays escalate Continuous update and review of reporting format to suit company requirements Liaison with local authorities on customs applications & reports in relation to local or import purchases Lead/oversee the procurement team to achieve effective procurement and timely purchase of direct and indirect materials Provide guidance, leadership and adequate training for subordinates To arrange and coordinate with QC and R&D personnel on testing of raw materials To coordinate with accounts department on the document transfers and information needed in coding system Responsible for the continuous audit of all phases of the system, these includes but not limited to:- Periodical management assessment (to generate relevant purchase/inventory/rejection reports for management   review / feedback; compile specified Key Performance Indicator data for reporting purposes), Internal Quality Audit Program, ISO Certification Audit; and External audit where applicable To provide leadership in good housekeeping and safety/health practices in working areas. Requirements: At least Diploma in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Purchasing & Inventory Management or equivalent. Sound knowledge in ISO 9001 Quality Systems, well verse with ISO requirements and procedures Professional knowledge of procurement practices, supply markets, terms negotiation concepts and business laws Sound knowledge in export and import laws and regulations. At least three (3) years of managerial experiences in procurement, materials managements, supply chain managements or related positions, preferably in manufacturing industry Familiar with Lean Manufacturing will be added advantage Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken. Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin or proficiency in foreign language(s) would be an added advantage. Possess good team building and interpersonal skills and able to work well/effectively with people at all levels Exceptional at building rapport with suppliers/vendors. Computer literate (Microsoft Offices) Ideally have used ERP system Resourceful with strong initiatives Excellent negotiation, planning & analytical skills High integrity and results driven. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and time demands effectively. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
