ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rhythm & Hues is a multiple Academy Award® winning film production studio specializing in visual effects and computer animation for feature films and television commercials. Recent films include Night At The Museum 2, Fast & Furious, The Mummy 3, The Incredible Hulk, and The Golden Compass. Rhythm & Hues has a globally distributed production infrastructure with studios in Los Angeles, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and now Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

ROLE
Operations Support facilitates the smooth operation of the studio. Operators are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the daily performance of the company’s computer systems including various flavours of Linux servers and workstations. This position will also provide technical assistance, support and assist computer users with hardware and software requirements. Will be required to work in shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist users with hardware, email, network, peripheral problems and troubleshooting.
· Manage backups and restores; maintain tape library and reports; update online database.
· Monitor disk usage reports and assist in data cleanup.
· Troubleshoot software, hardware and networking issues.
· Attend to user requests and resolve trouble-tickets logged by users.
· Install software as per requirements.
· Perform regular maintenance & upgrades of computer hardware & software.
· Create and manage user accounts.
· Monitor the ISP connectivity and facilitate resolution of issues.
· Monitor & verify daily syncs of production data.
· Be the first line of support for tech issues in the studio.
· Assist artists in setting up and synchronising their work area across different locations.
· Troubleshoot production pipeline related issues and escalate as necessary.
· Assist in the training and induction of new staff.
· Collaborate and work with operations support staff across all locations.
· Assist in writing and maintaining software tools and operating manuals/procedures.
· Make recommendations and enhance procedures to increase productivity, organization and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS
· Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
· Graduate degree in any discipline or technical work experience.
· Good understanding and experience on Linux.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
· Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills.
· Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
· Good team player.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
· Scripting and programming experience (Perl, c/c++, sh/csh).
· Familiarity with basic Linux system administration tools and processes.
· Familiarity with networked/distributed computing concepts.
· Database experience (MySQL preferred).
· Interest in computer animation and special effects.
· A degree or certificate in computer science or a related field.
