ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rhythm & Hues is a multiple Academy Award® winning film production studio specializing in visual effects and computer animation for feature films and television commercials. Recent films include Night At The Museum 2, Fast & Furious, The Mummy 3, The Incredible Hulk, and The Golden Compass. Rhythm & Hues has a globally distributed production infrastructure with studios in Los Angeles, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and now Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
ROLE
System support team members’ primary focus is to assist in installing and operating Linux workstations and servers as well as network infrastructure; but they also provide support to end-users of Linux workstations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Install, maintain, support and troubleshoot workstations, servers and networking equipment
· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware and peripherals
· Monitor server performance metrics and undertake preventive maintenance
· Monitor the systems and network performance and usage
· Work with the Systems Administrator to plan and optimise systems infrastructure
· Carry out operational tasks such as Backup and Restore as per defined procedures
REQUIREMENTS
· Good communication skills and fluent in English
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
· Linux experience, with proficiency in shell commands and scripting
· Proficiency in hardware assembly and component level troubleshooting
· Excellent troubleshooting skills
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
· Linux/Unix Server and/or Network administration experience
· Experience in a Unix /Linux environment with a large number of users
· Experience with high-end graphics workstations
